Edwin Nevis changed the landscape of Gestalt Psychology, Gestalt Therapy, Gestalt Theory and the field of applied behavioral science. He made a difference with his presence. He made an art out of identifying and creating what was missing and necessary to change individuals and society for the better. Edwin influenced thousands of individuals around the world, directly and indirectly. In academic speak, he was a triple threat - he was a writer, a researcher and a hands-on educator. Often rejected by mainstream, Edwin successfully created world-class entities where he and others could do their writing, research and teaching. Great things have happened with individuals, groups, organizations, and communities because of Edwin’s leadership and generosity. Individuals influenced by him and his wife, Sonia, made the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and Gestalt OSD brand names standing for excellence.
